Queen Time

Savannah had the privelege of being on the court with seven beautiful young ladies that we got to spend the weekend with! Because all of the girls live in different areas of Virginia, we hadn't spent much time with them yet, and I did not know them very well. However, after spending both evenings with these queens as a chaperone, I was quite blessed.

These girls are talented, polite, kind, funny, and smart! Savannah definitely made friends that I would love for her to keep! (and some of them are old enough to babysit! ha!) When they gave up their titles today, there were some tearful farewells. I felt like I had more than one little girl on that stage that I was very proud of! Thank you Courtney, Erica, Miranda, LaTisha, Victoria, Emily, and Avery for a wonderful weekend. I'd love to chaperone you girls any time! :)

On Friday night, the queens were picked up in a limo for a night on the town! I recognize that Savannah looked a little rough, but she just woke up. :)

That limo was HARD to climb into!

The girls went out to dinner and then to play putt-putt. It was a little difficult for the littlest girls (what am I saying... its difficult for ME!), but they got the hang of it.
Baby Miss Virginia, Avery Chandler

And our own little Savannah. Yes, she actually hit it in there. I was impressed too.

When Savannah got a little frustrated, Courtney Garrett, Virginia's Oustanding Teen Miss, was on hand to help out. This girl is SO sweet and fun. Cross your fingers for her... this week she travels to Florida for America's Outstanding Teen Miss. Courtney, we're pulling for you!

On Saturday, all of the contestants (77 of them) and the queens had a pizza and dance party!

The state queens got to eat pizza at the table with Caressa Cameron, Miss Virginia 2009. When Caressa met Savannah, she said that she had one thing to say. "Look out, Miss Virginia 2023! Its Savannah Beckner!"

Savannah loved hanging out with little miss Avery. They share the same birthday, just two years apart!

After the tummies were full of pizza, it was time to dance. I don't know where this girl gets her moves. It was enough entertainment for me to last quite a while.

Thanks again, Courtney, for being such a sweetheart!

Cupid Shuffle... yes... Savannah actually caught on. Especially to the jumping and stomping part.
Of course it helpe that Tiny Miss Virginia, Emily Kinsey, was on hand to help show her some moves. Thanks, Emily!

And then Savannah broke out her own solo dance moves. Who needs a partner with moves like this?!

What a fun weekend! I'll post professional pictures when they arrive.
Tomorrow, the unpacking begins. This girl came home loaded down with gifts... everything from a bath towel with her name and a crown on it... to a glass case for her crown... to a huge photo of her winning last year... to candy... to a new diaper bag...and even more. Whew!
But for now, I'm going to join my FORMER miss virginia queen and hit the sack. :)
