Road Trip to the (Deeper) South, Part Two

While on our roadtrip, Courtney and I got to go have a girls night out and see Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and Kenny Chesney in concert. We had a blast!!!

The huge center definitely made my hometown look a little puny. :)

Please ignore how sweaty we were. It was hot and crowded! Kenny Chesney was sweaty too, but somehow he pulled off that look better than we did. Go figure.

When Kenny Chesney started singing, nobody could see him. And then all of the sudden he appeared from the ceiling. Pretty cool if you ask me.

We were on the 11th row I believe. Pretty sweet seats!

This is Courtney and her friend who got us those sweet seats. Thanks, Courtney's friend!

I had a blast at the concert. Thanks, Courtney!!!

This next picture is the tent we put Savannah in. Just kidding. But I did want to put her in a tent when she got up at 3:30am one night. But this is just the tent she played in. I promise.

And before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye and return home. Booo! We decided we will just have to go back more often.

Thanks for a great trip!!!

Road Trip to the (Deeper) South, Part One

Today we traveled to my aunt's house for a few days. They have a trampoline in their yard. Have I told you about Savannah's obsession with jumping? Well, she loves to jump. Anywhere. So just imagine when she saw a trampoline.

At first she was content observing...

But soon she was in on the action...

And everyone had to jump with her... Hunter, Courtney, Emileigh, and Momma...

I haven't jumped on a trampoline since I was like... 15. It made me tired. Haha.

Actually... she made us all tired. And she wore herself out too.

We should all sleep good tonight! More to come on our short road trip... stay tuned! :)

Cake Class, Week 3

This week's cake was probably my favorite so far... not because it looked a lot better... but because it was strawberry cake with strawberry fruit filling. Yum, yum!

Cake Class, Week 2

Yeah... we realized on the way that we were kinda busted about tasting our icing...

Bet you can't guess who had pink and who had blue...

Aww, I love these girls.

Gina's beautiful rainbow cake...

Emily's giant cupcake cake...

And of course.... I made a daisy. Again.

Not Me!

I did NOT paint my dining room red because I got stir crazy over the weekend. The red is NOT kind of fuschia. I have not already painted it two coats and it now needs at least two more. I'm NOT taking volunteers to help me finish. Not me!

I did NOT have to say today, "Savannah, sweetie, we don't pee-pee on the rug. Lets go in the potty or in the diaper." Not me!

Speaking of diapers, I did NOT wake up this morning to a screaming child at 6 am. I did NOT rush into her room and find that she had removed her diaper and taken a dump in the bed on the sheets. I did NOT clean up the child and put her in my bed and just leave the pile of stinky poo for a more appropriate time of day. Not me!

I did NOT have a brand new computer crash this week. Dealing with the geek squad did NOT nearly reduce me to tears. I did NOT tell a geek squad guy that I was a hopeless wreck when it comes to computers and beg him to install my software for me after he wiped the hard drive. My begging and pleading did NOT work and get me exactly what I wanted... a geek at my service. I would not use my powers of persuasion like that. Not me!

I have NOT had like 14 cups of coffee this week. One of my friends did NOT call me an addict. Not me!

I have NOT started to speed a little more now that I have a cop brother that tells me what they pull people over for. I do NOT use my knowledge to drive a little faster. I know that would eventually come back to bite me in the butt. Not me!

I did NOT cry this week after a bad day when I ran over a bunny rabbit and killed it. What kind of self respecting female cries over roadkill?! Not me!

I did NOT get stressed out when I realized that I needed to tivo five tv shows tonight and I was trying to figure out if it would work. Thats a ton of tv for one night. Not me!

How To Keep A Toddler Happy At the Mall

1. Carry lots of quarters.
2. Find Bob the Builder toy.
3. Don't think about all of the germs on it.
4. Place toddlers inside (its even better when you can get two for the price of one!).
5. Insert quarters.
6. Take pictures and enjoy the excitement on little faces.
7. Prepare for meltdown when the ride ends.

Not Meeee!

This week I did not get tired of toddler whining while I was trying to get ready to go somewhere. And I did not hand Savannah a hair brush and tell her to go brush Sasha's hair. I did not do that just because I knew Sasha could outrun Savannah, but that it would occupy her for ten minutes. I did not laugh when Savannah came back really out of breath about fifteen minutes later and tell me that Sasha went bye-bye. I wouldn't do that to my poor dog. Not me.

I do not give my child a flintstone vitamin to occupy her mouth when I want five minutes of quiet. This does not happen every single morning. I know vitamins are good for you and I totally encourage her to eat them for that reason. Not because I want quiet. Not me.

I was not totally out of Kleenex the other day when Savannah decided to stick her finger up her nose and produce a surprise. And if that did happen, I wouldn't tell her to put her surprise in my pocket because there was nothing else to do with it. And if she did, I definitely wouldn't stick my hand in my pocket later and find the surprise stuck to me. That would be positively disgusting. Not me!

I did not skip showering one day this week because I never made it to the shower and then by the time I did get a chance to shower, I didn't decide it just wasn't worth it. I know the importance of daily hygiene. I don't skip showers. Not me!

I didn't wait until 11:30pm Saturday night to go buy a mothers day card. I didn't find a great card with no envelopes left and totally steal an envelope from another card that was way too big for my card and decide that I was fine with that because it was almost midnight and I just didn't care. Not me!

I definitely didn't let Savannah use my toothbrush when we couldn't find hers this week. Gross! Not me!

I did not laugh out loud when the child of a friend informed me that they "have ants inside AND outside at their house." And if it did make me laugh really hard, it wasn't because my house also has ants inside AND outside (in spite of Raid, vinegar, ant trapping houses, and more)...and I was relieved that someone else did too. Not me!

I never ever let Savannah watch TWO elmo videos in one day because I need a few minutes to myself. I never put her in her highchair during elmo videos so that I can leave the room and know that she isn't into anything. I would not strap my child down in front of the television. I know the importance of interaction and the ill effects of television on toddlers. I never do that just to get some quiet time without someone attached to me. Not me!

I did not leave tampons in the diaper bag yesterday when I took Savannah to church nursery at a church we were visiting for Mother's Day. I didn't put them in there thinking I'd switch them to my purse in the car and then totally forget about it until that afternoon when I saw them in the diaper bag. And the guy that was working nursery and probably dug through the diaper bag was not a guy my age that I hung out with years ago. Thats not embarassing at all. Not me!

Wanna go see what other people are not doing this week? And if you want extra extra entertainment... there is an eight year old picture of me and katie on Naff News. Go find it. Haaaa. :)
