My Two Blessings

I don't know why all the trees change in the fall...
I know you're not scared of anything at all...
Don't know if Snow White's house is near or far away...
But I know I had the best day with you today.

Brooklyn is getting Beefy...

She will kill me for that title one day, but Brooklyn is officially a big(ger) girl! Weighing in at 10 pounds, 11 ounces, she didn't want anyone to know that she was a preemie! She is now at the 55% for weight. At 22 inches long, she is 50% for height, and 50% for head circumference as well. She is average/above average for a TERM BABY!

It must be all that ice cream I've been consuming. Ahem.

Its a Jeep Thing...

We've all heard the saying.
"Its a Jeep thing... you wouldn't understand."

Very true, my friends. Once a Jeep owner, always a Jeep lover.

I am so excited to say that after years of missing my Jeep Grand Cherokee, we are now the proud owners of a Jeep Commander. We gave the minivan a shot, but after a year, we just didn't love it. So when we found a too-good-to-be-true-pinch-me kind of a deal on this, we had to go for it. And it was love at first drive!

Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Its that time again!

Get out your shovels and potting soil!

My little gardening helper was laying down on the job. Literally.

And its not only time to plant flowers around here, but veggies too!
And of course, every man needs a lady to tell him what to do in the yard. Thanks, Savannah, for making sure things were done right around here! Is there any doubt that she is mine?!

And, once again making me proud, she proved that even a lady in "jelly shoes" can dig some dirt.

Its talent, really. How many people can garden in a mini skirt and fashionable footwear?!

It may take us three weeks to get the garden planted, but it sure is more fun with come cute help!

Two Months Old

Brooklyn is two months old! I can't believe it. Time is flying!

I love this girl's chubby cheeks. I just think they're so cute!

Brooklyn hasn't changed a whole lot in the past month, but that is fine with me! She has continued to be a fabulous nurser, and for the most part is a good sleeper (although we have had a few more long nights this month). She loves to hear her sister talk, to lay on a blanket and kick her legs, and to sit in her vibrating bouncy seat. She has also been to both the church nursery and the nursery at the gym this month and has done great in both places.

She is very flexible and laid-back. And she loves to be held. And I'm not complaining.
She has gained weight, but is still wearing newborn clothes. I have a feeling she will be a little behind on sizes for a while, but thats okay. I've always wished I could keep them little longer anyway. She has her two month appointment tomorrow, and we'll find out how much she weighs then.

Brooklyn occasionally coos and very rarely smiles, but I think those things will change in the next month or so. Her premature "adjusted age" is only two weeks right now, so she is definitely ahead of that, even if she isn't quite up there with her peers yet.

This girl brings a lot of joy to my life. And even at 3 am, I wouldn't have it any other way! I sure do love this sweet two month old!

Overheard at My House

"Mom! Baby sister is really crying. She's very hungry. I think she better eat you now."

Gooddayinthemornin'

This child...

- sprayed the bathroom floor with hairspray
- wet her pants
- poked her sister in the eye on purpose
- ate purple playdoh
- smooshed a banana between the couch cushions
- managed to find and open a bag of chips while her mom was getting dressed
- promptly dumped said bag of chips on the carpet immediately after this photo was taken
- dont even ask why she is naked

If anyone would like her, I will happily arrange a free drop off at a location of your choice immediately. ;)

Young Miss Salem

Today Savannah competed in the Tiny Miss Salem pageant.

After getting ready (and putting on much-needed deoderant), she competed in casual wear, photo, and gown. And she won the highpoint title of Young Miss Salem (she had the highest score of any contestant ages 0-6).

She had so much fun competing this time and it made it so entertaining to watch her. And we couldn't be prouder. We think she is beautiful on the outside, and more importantly, on the inside too! We sure do love our newly crowned Young Miss Salem!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

Take me out to the ballgame...
[Savannah and Brooklyn's first baseball game, that is.]

Take me out to the crowds...

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...
[Or dippin dots!]

I don't care if I never get back...

Cause its root root root...

For the home team...
[Red Sox!]

If they don't win its a shame...
[But they did!]

Cause its one...

Two...

Three strikes you're out...

...at the old ball game!

"Smiling is my Favorite!"

[Kudos to the person who knows what that quote is from.]
We're all smiles around here today!

Brooklyn sports this little half grin quite often. I think its adorable.
[Anyone else think she's getting chunky?!]

And Savannah is always willing to smile for the camera.
[Excuse the mushed up banana in the mouth.]

Hope your day is worth smiling about!

Hello, bright eyes.

When you get to wake up to this, who needs coffee?!

[Okay, you're right, I still need coffee. But she is so fun!]

A Good Way To Start The Day

This is the sight in my house almost every morning now. Brooklyn wakes up and lays on a blanket in the floor and kicks her feet and coos, and big sister lays next to her soaking it all in, talking back, and sometimes reading her stories. It is so fun... I sure love these two girls!

Poser.

Can you tell who used to be Miss Virginia? :)

Growing!

Brooklyn went for her one month check up on Friday and she is getting bigger! She now weighs 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and is 21 inches long. She is in the 25th percentile for her weight and the 50th percentile for her length. We sure are thankful to have a healthy, growing girl!

Overheard at My House

Savannah: "Baby sister, God made everything. I know that. I tell you that. You know that too."

(Mary, I thought this would make you proud!) ;)

Ringpop.

Did you ever have a ringpop?

They're one of the coolest candy inventions ever.

At least I always thought so.

Savannah agrees!
