Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes...

Or rather... Eyes, Ears, Nose, Belly, and Toes!

I have Thanksgiving pictures to blog, but until I get all those downloaded, here is a little video of our cutie pie to tide you over. :) We think she is pretty smart. If you listen close, you can hear "eye" and "belly."

Christmas is Coming!

We let Elmo introduce Savannah to the idea that Christmas is coming. We gave her a gift today of an Elmo ornament with her name on it, and the Christmas dvd, "Abby and Elmo Countdown to Christmas." She was so excited! She carried the ornament around all day and watched the dvd with her Daddy (I think he liked it too)! I'm still looking for a good book or dvd that teaches her that Christmas is really about the birth of Jesus, but until I find one, I'll let her enjoy watching Elmo dancing around the Christmas tree. :)

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow! We really have SO much to be thankful for!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Anyone need their organized cabinets destroyed? Savannah to the rescue! :)

Need help unloading your dishwasher? :)
And then...when she is tired, she will pass out wherever she is... even if that means on the floor. But when you are tired... there will be no mercy. :)

Being a parent of a toddler certainly has its challenges, but it sure is rewarding! :) We love being Savannah's parents... even when it looks like a tornado just hit our house! :)

Talk the talk...

Savannah has really picked up her vocabulary this week. Popular words are:

"Heeeeey!" - Said everytime she sees someone new.

"Hot, hot, hot." - She points at the fire in the fireplace and says that.

"Ho, ho, ho." - Said when you ask her what Santa says.

"Pleee" - Code word for please. Said anytime she wants anything really bad.

"Tha-ooooo." - Code word for thank you. Said anytime you give anything to her or take anything from her.

"Pretty" - Said everytime she sees flowers. I used to say, "Savannah look at the pretty flowers" and now she thinks flowers are called "pretty."

"Oh-oh." Code for uh-oh. Said anytime she purposely throws anything in the floor.

"Baaaah." - Code for bye. Said anytime we leave anywhere.

She understands even more than she can actually say. She attempts to say almost everything we say now, and a lot of times she will do something to indicate that she understands. The newest one is... I will say, Savannah, did you go potty? And she'll grab her diaper to show she needs to be changed. This kid is way too smart for my own good! :)

Spaghetti for the Skinny

Savannah is pretty skinny...

But she won't be skinny for long if she keeps eating Mimi's spaghetti!

Home Again

We're home! Hooray!

Sweet little Savannah has to stay in isolation at home for ten days and go to the doctor for a few weight checks, but we are out of the hospital. Thanks for all of your prayers! Continue to pray for a speedy recovery and for our sanity in the midst of moving and our sick little baby!

Hospital Update

Well, we were all ready to leave the hospital this morning when Savannah's breakfast decided it wasn't going to stay put. While we were waiting to see if her tummy was going to calm down, her stool sample came back as positive for c.difficile, a bacterial inflammation of the intestines that is caused when you take antibiotics and they destroy the good bacteria in your stomach, leaving the bad bacteria to overrun everything. So, pray that Savannah's tummy feels better fast and she eats on her own... otherwise she has to have the IV put back in tomorrow morning. Pray for little (skinny) Savannah!

Sick Little Girl

Well, after a week of a bad ear infection in both ears, and then an upper respiratory infection, Savannah had to be admitted to the hospital. Her fever was 105.7 so we headed to the ER on Saturday night, and they admitted her and put an IV in. We're still in the hospital because little miss priss lost a good bit of the weight she had on her, so we're waiting on her to eat and quit losing weight. She is down to 19 pounds now, so we need her to beef up a little bit... she lost 17% of her body weight in the past three days! Her ears are slowly clearing up and while her chest is still congested, it is better than it was. We will be glad when we can go home! Here are a few shots of our hospital adventure.

Here we are in the ER. She was so hot that they has us strip her down.

She got a popsicle for surviving an IV, catheter, and having blood drawn.

It was not a fun experience!

But once we got on the pediatric floor, there was a lot of fun to be had! They had a little pink car that Savannah could drive while her IV followed behind.

They also brought lots of toys to her room. And a new Elmo video. The nurses have been so good to Savannah!

They even made her a ghetto bathtub when her bottom got blistered from all of the diarrhea!

We've had very little sleep, and can't wait to go home so we can really rest.

Did I mention we are supposed to be moving on Friday?! :)

Happy Birthday, Momma!

Yesterday Momma turned a year older! It was mostly fun because a birthday means cake, and this year was birthday pound cake from Ukrops! Mmmmm... I suckered Mimi into feeding me a bite or two. And me and Mimi got to spend the whole day together because Daddy gave Momma a giftcard for a day at the spa! He gives pretty awesome presents.

We celebrated at Montanos with Gramper, Gram-B, Auntie Em, Aunt Lizzy, Grandad, Mimi, and Daddy! Sorry for the lack of pictures... thats what happens when Daddy is in charge of the camera.

Happy Birthday, Momma!

Fall Fun

A friend of ours took some pictures of Savannah at the duck pond nearby. They turned out SO good and we were so excited... nothing like great pictures without signing up and waiting in line at a picture studio!

Hope you have as much fun as this girl does outside in the fall air!

Hometown Queen

This past weekend, Savannah got the opportunity to represent her state title at the Tiny Miss Roanoke Valley pageant. She was not eligible to compete since she already holds a higher level title, but she went on stage and was introduced. And Daddy got to take her on stage because Mommy was a judge! Here are pictures of my two cuties.
Come on, Dad!

Blowing kisses to the crowd off to the side.

Hello everybody, I'm Wee Baby Miss Virginia!

Darren always thought pageants were kind of an easy thing, and you either won or lost. But after entertaining Savannah while waiting, keeping her crown and sash on, and then getting her to stand still on stage and smile and wave, he decided it was a little bit more difficult than he thought! :) It sure is fun though (for Mommy and Savannah anyway)!

All I want for Election Day Is... Six More Teeth!

Our sweet little girl has been a complete bear lately. In fact, Saturday was terrible. I told Darren I was on the verge of just sitting her in the crib for a little bit because I didn't think I could take it much longer. She cried and cried, and nothing would make her happy. Finally, at dinner, I got a good look in her mouth and discovered just what the problem was. Would you be a little grumpy if you went from six teeth... to twelve teeth... in one weekend?! She cut her last two top primary teeth, and her four one year molars at the same time, apparently. They are almost through except for one, and that one is just really red/white and swollen. I am relieved that in about a week we will be done with teething for a while!

And, since you are on the computer using your spare time to read this, I assume you've already voted. But if not, consider this your friendly reminder to go exercise your freedom of choice... and if you are undecided, feel free to vote McCain-Palin. :)

Baby, Its Cold Outside!

Not really, but its awfully cute inside! Excuse the stuff on her face, I was just too excited about how cute she was in this fur coat I won off of ebay with the tags still on it... I didn't even wipe her face off! :)
